The purpose of this thread is for users of the site to tell new users what this site is about and why you enjoy it.

Your review of the site in this thread should be honest, feel free to mention negatives together with the positives. Your audience is new users; feel free to tell them what you like with the goal of helping them figure out why they should use this site.

If we get enough posts here, I’ll create a link from the homepage and this will be a good source of information for new users.

Since I decided to start taking poker seriously, I knew that I needed to continually strive to improve my game. I have experienced a $30/month training site, forums including twoplustwo and deucescracked yet for me personally this site gives me what I need to improve much more.

Pokerwit is a very simple yet revolutionary way of analysing hands, in which we (as the user) play a hand, step by step deciding what actions we would take. At the end the analysis can pour in where everyone discusses every difference they would make in how the hand was played on each street.

Amir, the driving force behind pokerwit will play pretty much every hand and put in some fantastic points across. There are other great players too who you will notice are reasonably active in the forums. The best thing about this is the ability to have actually played a hand you can learn from, and the ability to read and re-read some fantastic hand analysis.

This is all at your disposal for free, however if you some seriously great advise at a brilliant price, there is now the poker pro hands. There are a bunch of 5 of the biggest SnG and MTT winners of the internet. They are giving you hands from 11 dollar online tournaments, and hands from 5k live events all with each play being given good reasoning.

Enjoy it, learn from it, and post on the forums for advice on a bunch of stuff, hope to see you active on pokerwit soon!

PokerWit is directly responsible for my game improving. I've spent the past year of my poker career doing everything I could think of to find my leaks and improve on them. Registering for nearly every video site at one point or another, posting hands in forums, playing hundreds of thousands of hands. Since I became active on this site, replaying and posting hands, connecting with players better than myself, I've found a few very large leaks in my game. Working on those leaks has given me more confidence in the games that I play and in higher ones as well, for a reference point I grind any number of tournaments $109 and down regularly. I plan on using the site to continue to connect with skilled players so I can continue to improve.
That's why I enjoy it at least.
As for what the site is about, I can try to explain it but you will have to try it out for yourself to really understand just how useful the street by street hand replaying feature is. Being able to go step by step through a hand, reading the authors analysis as you take each action, then comparing your results to everyone elses and being able to discuss it all in the comments is a truly unique feature you won't find anywhere else.

I've been meaning to post in this topic for a bit, but my busy schedule the past few weeks is just now allowing me to.

Pokerwit is the only experience with a "training" type site that I have so I can't really compare it to other sites. I do know this, in the 10 months of using the site my game has improved drastically. Several key leaks have been plugged, my level of thought is higher, and I am continuing to improve in some way every time I visit. And not just my game, but my overall understanding of poker and trends off the table.

Before using the site I railed a lot of high stakes games and started to notice Amirsf sometime in mid to late 08. I would have my regular players I would rail and started to incorporate him. I saw that he was having some great results and the day I joined this site was after he mentioned it in the chat box on a table.

The site has evolved quite a bit from when I joined first, but the basic principle remains the same. It allows you, the user, to be involved in your own training. In playing the hands you can play many different ways depending on the options available and then see where you may excel or go awry. The user interface is very user friendly and understandable as you progress thru the hand. And now with the recent advent of the pro hands you can walk thru some interesting concepts the big winning players are incorporating in thier game. That allows you to look for similar situations and perhaps take advantage when playing.

The pro hand section is also a ton of value for the cost. As I mentioned, I have already learned a ton of new concepts and put my thinking into much higher level when playing. The promotions of having hands analyzed and pro freerolls also add a ton of value to the cost of $5 per month. That price IMO is unbeatable, and with the money back guaruntee it would be foolish not to subscribe.

The forum has also started to become much more active since I joined the site. I think that's a great thing and it's always nice to chat with fellow players who share the same passion as you.

All in all I have nothing negative to say about the site. Amir is open to constructive criticism and is willing to look at things in different perspectives to help improve everyones experience.

If I think of any other feedback I'll be sure to post!

I have been a member of pokerwit for about a year now.

I would recommend pokerwit for anyone wanting to work on their game, by posting and discussing hands.

The feedback I have gotten from other pokerwit members has been very valuable for me, and has helped me a lot in working on my game.

As a pokerplayer, you should always be looking for ways to improve your game. Ways to do that are: Reviewing your handhistories, talking to pokerfriends about certain hands, joining training sites and watching videos, posting hands in forums etc.

Pokerwit is something completely different and new. Here you can post your hands, and others are able to play the hand step by step without knowing the outcome, as if they are just playing it on their own. After each street they can compare their decision to yours and read why you played the hand the way you did. And so can you when you are playing someone else's hand. And finally, after the hand is played out, players can comment on it and point out leaks and/or alternative ways to play the hand.
This is a great way to much more effectively discover your own leaks and improve your game.

And then, you also have the ProHands section in which, at a really low monthly cost of only $5 (!), you can get into the head of top online winning players. See how they play their hands and hopefully grasp the thoughtprocess behind it.

To me, this site has been absolutely valuable and I am very sure in will continue to be so in the future.

I would like to add some negative things to make this look a little less like a commercial lol, but cant come up with much. One point of criticism maybe could be that some of you lazy pros could show your balla asses up in the monthly freeroll to play with us. But then again, there is a $100 prizepool each month and you only have to pay $5 for the prohands section to be able to take part and the less players show up there, the more dead money in the pot...nevermind.

Pokerwit is definitely a great addition to the online poker community. I am surprised that a platform so simple, can be this effective in a market that is saturated with training tools/poker forums/training sites. I have only been a member on the site for a few days but I am very impressed with the activity level of top poker players. The genuine in-depth discussion and higher level anaylsis is bar-none. The pro subscription for $5/month is definitely worth it and I would be willing to pay more for more hands & more pros & more valuable activity in general. The exclusivity & active contribution from good poker players makes it an invaluable resource and an exciting community to be a part of.

To my surprise, It is many levels above 2p2 MTT strategy threads & linechecks b/c the players get a level a trust from when the answers are coming from pros with invested interest in the site. The interactiveness really accelerates learning, b/c it allows you to realize you're own mistakes with pronounced boldness! Top notch content for $5/month. Can't go wrong!

i am very impressed with this site overall. Here is what I like:
Interaction w/pros
I get answers to my questions and comments
Pros are open minded and can dummy down answers for me
It allows me to interact with Non-Pros that have similar leaks and doubts
Easy to navigate
Affordable since you can't get Pros time for $5/mo anywhere else!

Here is something I would improve or perhaps I don't know how to do
I would like to be notified when someone posts comments to hands where I posted comments as well. As I play more and more hands I find it a bit difficult to go back to all of the Hands Played to see if anyone posted comments after me.

I think the site already has the functionality you want.
There is a thread on this topic: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14

Feel free to post any additional suggestions/questions over there.

Happy to hear you are enjoying the site.

Just wanted to share that I cashed in my first live tournment played since joining PokerWit.com.
It was a limit holdem tournment at hollywood casino indiana where I cashed $1033.00. not much compared probably to the amount you all pros get but for an amature this is exciting stuff.

Although you focus on No Limit Game, I was able to apply pressure to opponent with good betting patterns and was able to read opponents using some of the tips I picked up on this site.

Thank yo all
Dom
